God’s Promise: Psalm 32:8 “I will instruct you and teach
you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye.”
God has directed CDM for 2018 as He has throughout the years. As we trust Him for the direction and follow His lead we can never go wrong… which is mentioned in Proverbs 3:5-6. I started out with some young people in the beginning of the year. This brightens the range of our work with counseling and gives new incentives to challenge young people to focus on God for direction instead of what the college has said. Teaching those who depend upon the world for their direction is very difficult. Once truly saved, then and only then, do they see the difference. Trials to young people are something they must solve rather than seeking God and the Holy Spirits direction.
Steering those to truth is very difficult; also showing them the choices that we are given. To teach others to be messengers of Christ rather than being caught into the world has to be shown through the Bible. Some examples I’ve worked with are: dating, verbal abuse, sex addictions, Attention Deficit concerns, as well as teaching families how to handle these issues. We also have obsessive hoarding which consumes a person. We work with obsessive compulsives who always have to have a problem to survive or they are not happy this involves a chemical dependency on adrenaline. Adrenaline is very hard to dissipate due to the dependency on its reaction. It’s no different than someone getting off of a drug addiction, same goes with the obsessive nature. There is a high of gratification from sex, hoarding and other compulsions. 2nd Chronicles 7:14 states: “If my people, who are called by My name will humble themselves, pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and heal their land.” (NKJV). This is not a quick process.
I have been ill for quite awhile and I am still struggling to get better. In all sincerity, it has been going on for three years now with pneumonia on and off and a sundry of other things. I praise God for His direction in changing a lot of people to phone counsel. Thus, I can be sick and still talk and work on their concerns. One that helps people come around quicker is homework. I generate Biblical homework, which excels their healing and recognition of the word and how it applies to their lives. It is amazing to watch people heal and is a miracle in my sights.
We are coming to our thirtieth year of ministry! As I ponder and look at the results as well as the beginnings, God has always come through. This is God’s ministry I just am asked to steer it. Yes, it has opened up many doors and speaking engagements. I had been given the ability to share my own history of a holocaust experience as well as domestic violence issues. I am amazed at God’s healing results and the help in sharing with so many., along with the experience that gives many His support and my understanding. While I don’t like going through all these difficulties; God has given me grace and knowledge to teach others what to look for in any given situation. I stand in awe of His results. I was told in the very beginning that we would not make it five years, and here we are at thirty. I think the time and referrals speak for itself since we have never advertised other than word of mouth. We have an awesome God and are pleased to serve Him.
CDM has also had many advocates to empower and support us whether financially or with material items to keep us running with pride, also furniture and emotional support. I thank you and praise God for each and everyone that serves for the cause of Christ in this ministry. I couldn’t do it without you.
